MultiMarkdown Software, LLC was founded by Fletcher Penney, the author of MultiMarkdown — an open-source program that converts minimally formatted plain text into HTML, LaTeX, and other file formats. The MultiMarkdown syntax is a superset of Markdown that adds additional features.

MultiMarkdown Composer is the first program made available by MultiMarkdown Software, LLC. It is a text editor for Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7 written by Fletcher Penney, that is designed from the ground up around the MultiMarkdown syntax. Other text editors have support for MultiMarkdown(MMD) and Markdown(MD), but most of them are either too complex for most users, or seem to include support for MMD/MD as an afterthought. MultiMarkdown Composer was designed to make it as easy as possible to create and manage MultiMarkdown documents.

Given the success of MultiMarkdown Composer so far, we have been working on a version for iOS that we hope to release in early 2013.
